| The Weyrs
The weyrs are homes to the dragons and riders with the higher ranks being at the top and the lower ranks below them. Each weyr if fit with furniture and anything else to fit the riders needs and a stone couch and warm ledge for the dragons to sun and sleep on.

| The Weyrling Barracks
Here Weyrlings live with their new dragons until they are big enough for a full sized weyr. Each Weyrling gets a cot on the side of the building with a place nearby for their dragon to sleep. The Barracks includes showers, a common area, and a teaching area for inside lessons. It is split up so that female riders share the left side and male riders share the right side.

| Candidate Barracks
The candidate barracks houses potential riders, providing them with a cot, a set of white robes for impression day, and a common area and showers. The left wing is where the female candidates live and males on the right. Books are also found throughout here to teach Candidates what to expect at hatching.

| The Lower Caverns
The lower caverns connect everything that is on ground level, from the kitchens, to the dining halls, an infirmity and the homes of the weyrfolks. There are even some unused rooms waiting to be put to use.

| Fort Weyr Bowl
Outside Weyrling classes take place, dragons can be seen sunning themselves, feeding down at the pens, or even swimming in the lake. Lots of activity goes on out here from working, to lessons, to even just relaxing.

| Hatching Grounds
A large bowl of sand heated by underground hot springs, dragon Queens lay their eggs here and keep watch over them until they hatch. The Grounds are reachable by the bowl and large stone walls with platforms and seating surround the sands for dragons and humans to gather around and watch the hatching ceremony.

| Flight Skies
Most of the time the skies above the Weyr are clear with dragon and rider flying for the fun of it, Weyrlings taking their first flight, or female dragons and firelizards taking Flight to dare a male to out fly here. When the devastating Thread or Acid falls from the sky all fighting able dragons take flight to fight.

| The Weyrs
The weyrs house the dragons and riders of Skysong Weyr. Each weyr is fit to the rider’s needs with furniture and whatever else they may need. Each dragon has a stone couch and warm ledge to sleep and bask on. A constant cool breeze blows through the weyrs in the summer and spring time while in the winter the rocks seem to hold all the heat from the almost constant sun during the warmer seasons.

| The Lower Caverns
The lower caverns are home to the kitchens, dining hall, homes of the weyrfolk and many unexplored caverns and passageways. Rooms have remained unused and some appear as they have never been entered before, due to the fact the lower caverns of Skysong Weyr are brand new. Who knows what secrets and surprises await in the unexplored areas.

| The Weyrling Barracks
The Skysong Weyrling Barracks was built so that each Weyrling has their own room with a bed and place for their dragon to sleep until it is big enough for its own full sized weyr. Each room also has a shower, and all the rooms are connected by hallways that lead to the common area for inside lessons and relaxing.

| The Candidate Barracks
The Skysong Candidate Barracks is actually part of the lower caverns. The candidates each have their own room, showers, and a common area that opens up into the lower caverns as candidates are encouraged to interact with those who live and work in the lower caverns to get an idea of Weyr life if they are from the Holds.

| The Weyr Bowl
Skysong weyrbowl is a large grassy open area with jungle trees growing all around to provide shade. A river enters from the south side of the bowl and runs into a large large nearby. Livestock pens are nearby and the northern half is very open for use of Weyrling lessons or to gather the Weyr if needed. The Bowl is the ideal place to relax and work, with a warm sun shining most of the time and cool breeze always blowing through to keep it from getting too hot.

| Hatching Grounds
The Skysong Hatching Grounds are actually a large area of sand out in the open surrounded by large rock platforms to which seats have been added. They are heated by sunlight, and hold the heat year round. On the occasion when the weather is bad or Thread and Acid fall there are special metal covers made by the Scientists that can be carried to sit on top the stone around the sands, protecting them.

The skies above Skysong Weyr are normally clear and warm with the occasional rain storm. Dragons and riders fly for pleasure or take their first flights, or females take their Flights daring a male to catch her. Other times the skies are filled with fighting dragons as they sear Thread and Acid.

| The Surrounding Area
The area surrounding Skysong Weyr is a dense jungle for the most part. To the West though is a white sandy beach that dragons and riders often go in order to relax and to the North there is a wide open area of grass surrounding a lake that serves as a quiet thinking spot for most.

| The Weyrs
The weyrs are home to dragon and rider alike once the dragons are large enough to live in a full sized weyr. The weyrs are large enough to hold any furniture the rider may want. The weyrs are covered in dust and dark to a lack of glows, as Ista Weyr had not been home to any rider for sometime now.

| The Weyrling Barracks
The Weyrling Barracks is capable of housing as many Weyrlings, offering the young riders a cot and a nearby stones lab for their dragonet to sleep on. Shared bathing areas are on each side, one designated for woman and one for men with a common room in the center of the barracks for indoor lessons or interaction. Like the weyrs, the rooms are dark and covered with thick dust.

| The Candidate Barracks
Each candidate living in the barracks gets a cot and a shared bathing area to use with their fellow candidates. Like the Weyrling Barracks there are two, one for females, and one for males. Thick dust covers the furniture, bookshelves, and floors. There are books on dragons for candidates to read, but like everything else they looked like they haven’t been touched since the Dragonriders left Ista, and are covered in dust.

| The Lower Caverns
Making up the lower caverns are the dining area, kitchens, various hallways connecting the weyrs of Weyrfolk and drudges, and various other rooms that appear to have not been explored in sometime. Covered in dust and dark, due to lack of upkeep trundle bugs and tunnel snakes have been sighted occasional.

| The Weyr Bowl
The Weyr Bowl is filled with patches of dead grass as it has been thread scored without protection. A lake occupies one end of the Bowl, while the entrance to the hatching grounds is at the other. Besides the lack of plant life the bowl overall seems to be in great shape and would return to normal overtime with protection from dragonriders and the removal of the burrowed Thread.

| The Flight Skies
Normally the skies above Ista are always warm and usually sunny, with the occasional storm or tropical storm. Here Weyrlings take their first flights, or dragon and rider take a break enjoying the thrill of flight. Also female dragons have their Flights, daring a male to catch here. Dragonriders also take flight during Thread and Acid Falls to protect Pern.

| Hatching Grounds
Heated by an underground heat source the Hatching Grounds are surrounded by stands for dragons, and humans alike to watch the hatching below. While the stands are in need of some slight repairs and cleaning due to low upkeep, overall the Hatching Grounds are in great condition.

| The Rest of the Island
Ista Island is known for its sandy beaches and tropical climate. Due to grubs placed by Holders most of the plant life is still living, with a few bares spots where the farmers and Holders never reached.

| The Holds |
| Fort Hold
Located near Fort Weyr, Fort Hold is one of the oldest Holds. The Hold if often filled with traders, Gathers, and the occasional Dragonrider to do business with the Lord and Lady Holder. Farms of the lesser holds surround the area, providing tithe to Fort Weyr for their protection.

| Skysong Hold
Established shortly after Skysong Weyr was established, Skysong Hold is home to people who mostly felt that the Fort Weyrwoman was unfair or those who developed mutations after the first Acid fall who feared what the Fort Weyrwoman might do to them. Plenty of Gathers are held here and they do trade and tithe to the dragonriders willingly in exchange for protection, for fear of Fort Weyr’s wrath.

| Ista Hold
Ista Hold is located near the Weyr. It is home to those are mutated and non-mutated alike who have chosen not to side with either Skysong Weyr or Fort Weyr in the conflict. They offer refuge to anyone trying to have no part in the conflict and also offer those injured in the conflict or Thread and Acid Falls a place to recover, due to the fact they are a netural territory.
