Character[/b]
Name: Nasira
Age: 20 turns
Gender: Female
Rank: Rider, or if you need another position you think she can fill, let me know
Mutated?: Yes, Animation. This means she can (temporarily) animate objects, though they must be close to her. For instance, she can make a broom sweep the floor itself while she makes the bed. When she stops remembering to have the object moving, it will stop, and it does not continue without her knowledge. It has made every day life a touch easier for her than it would be for others, though it is nothing spectacular in and of itself and often doesn’t really affect other people.
Location: Skysong Weyr
Appearance: Nasira is one of those very feminine women who will always be somewhere between a woman and a girl in appearance. She isn’t very tall, usually standing a head below everyone else, and isn’t very big around. She doesn’t have the ample bust of some women, but does support subtle curves, and a very pretty face. Her skin is pale in complexion, competing against the dark curls of her short hair, with a few moles sparsely placed about her in a very pretty manner. Her lips are thin, usually cast in a soft smile that is neither inviting nor mocking, simply showing that she is happy and content with herself, even if she doesn’t always feel that way.
Her eyes are very striking, a glittery gray in color they somewhat appear blue whenever she wears that shade of clothing. Darker gray rings frame the pretty irises, often giving her a very intense look, though sometimes when she is looking off into the distance it will instead make her appear dreamy and wistful. If nothing else, Nasira is rather adorable, dainty and cute, she looks like one of those people you could just hug whenever you felt the urge.
She always tries to be as feminine as possible, wearing long, loose skirts that twist about her legs when she spins whenever she has the opportunity. However, she does wear serious clothing when there is need, always wearing sturdy trousers for flights, she tries to keep her tunics light and pretty, just to be sure that she can express her love of feminine things. It is quite common to see her walking about without shoes, when she can manage to get away with it, but will otherwise don her comfortable leather boots, broken in so that they fit her feet comfortably.
Personality: To put it quite simply, Nasira is a shy woman who doesn’t go out of her way to meet new people. In fact, most of the time, if someone new approaches her, she will become rather embarrassed, a blush spreading across her face and dip her head until she can find some way to retreat. Quiet to a fault, she doesn’t like to speak up very often, and certainly not whenever she is around anyone with authority. She will respond if she is forced to, but will not speak out of her own volition. In fact, in those situations where she finds herself in a crowd, she always wished she had some way to disappear.
It isn’t impossible for her to make friends, and after a lengthy portion of time spent with someone she will warm up to them and become a good person to know in any case. She always has nice things to say for her friends, though she is quite clingy when it comes to those who find themselves in her list of friends. It is these people that she cares most about, and will often seek them out whenever she is in need of support and words of wisdom, which she will in turn give to them. However, if they are looking for a person to fight their battles for them, Nasira is not their girl. In fact, if someone ever expects her to enter into violence or harsh words on their behalf, that’s a quick way to lose her trust and friendship, though it is possible to gain it back after it is lost. Nasira is not the kind of woman to hold a grudge.
Being quite unique in herself, Nasira manages to be both independent and unsure of herself. She holds little confidence in her own capabilities, but won’t allow others to limit her. She can have a stubborn mind when she wants to, and can work herself through physical pain and failure just to try to prove someone wrong, even if she secretly agrees with them. She has never liked being limited, and always felt the need to push herself past every hurtle that came her way. However, she never gets angry with people when they do try to limit her, and is rather understanding and calm about the entire situation. It takes a good deal more than offending her to truly ruffle her feathers. Though, when those feathers are ruffled, she will not openly display her emotions, and will block herself up and away from others, even if they are trying to help her.
If there is one thing beyond her dragon that she loves, it is children. Being born in a Weyr always taught her that children weren’t something she was likely going to have. A family was far and beyond her reach, but that never stopped her from doing her best to help them in any way she was capable. Even before she was released from the crèche she was helping the women care for the younger children. Once she was old enough to take on a craft, she decided her time was better spent with the children of the Weyr, deciding that that would be the life she had before her. This all changed when she Impressed, though she would never wish her dragon away, she knows that now more than ever children are the one thing she is likely to never have.
History: Nasira was born to a dragon riding pair of Fort Weyr. When Na’sor’s brown Feliroth caught Sirana’s green Kaith, there was no real thought of a child, but the relationship between the two was pursued. Either with that first day of lovemaking, or one of those days later that sevenday, Nasira was conceived and was born a healthy nine months later. Promptly, her mother placed her within the crèche, not having the time to dote upon a child, at the very least in her mind. She also shut out Na’sor and turned her affections to a bronzerider, who would later be her weyrmate. Na’sor, however, fell in love with the young girl, and visited her in the crèche often. He did not have the time he wished to properly care for a child, nor did he have the knowledge to do so, so he always felt she was better where she was then she would be if he ever took her for himself.
Nasira never left the Weyr, and grew up with a wonderful relationship with her father. The older she got, the stronger her relationship with her mother became, as the woman came around seven Turns later to see how the child was doing, once again mated to Na’sor from Kaith’s flight. From then on, her mother visited her daughter, once she realized she wasn’t going to have to actually raise her. The crèche was quite obviously Nasira’s favorite place to be, anyways, and she did not often leave its safe confines. Upon turning twelve, when she could have decided upon any craft she wished, she remained in the crèche to help the younger children. At the age of fifteen, she began Standing for a dragon of her own, mostly due to her mother’s promptings.
When the acid fell, they all became sick. Her mother was horribly scarred from the ordeal, and withdrew into herself, fearing the loss of her beauty. Na’sor himself was scarred, weakened, and eventually died from some malfunctioning mutation he had that continued to sap him of all his strength. Nasira herself was crushed, and changed by the acids, finding that she had the ability to “turn on” things, to make them move on their own accord. She worked to hide this, especially from her mother, who was becoming somewhat less than sane herself.
Then, Nasira Impressed one of the strange colored dragons that came from the acid clutch, Iridescent Emireth claiming her for her own. Sirana was outraged, disgusted, and said many things to her daughter that Nasira would never forget. She was quickly banished with the other strangely colored dragons, seeking refuge in Skysong Weyr with the others. It took her a few months before she would speak to anyone at all.
From that point on, over the next three turns, there was little in the way of life changing events that happened to her. Save for one. After one of Emireth’s flights, Nasira conceived. She was thrilled to be given the chance at a child, especially when she did not expect herself capable of conceiving. However, she did not manage to carry the child to term, and had a miscarriage at four months. Nasira was crushed. However, life had to go on, and she focused more on her duties as a dragonrider than she ever had before.
Anything else you want to add: She is left handed.
Impressed[/b]
Dragon Name: Emireth
Dragon Color: Iridescent
Brief Personality: Emireth is shy, just like Nasira, though she is far more obedient than her rider. She doesn’t like confrontations, and will often sit idly by when they are happening, pretending that nothing is going on. She is one dragon that dislikes entirely being in the spotlight. She can be fierce if she needs to be, but that often scares her as much as it scares anyone else. Simply put, she would prefer if everyone would simply get along and be happy.
Anything else you want to add: Is very protective of Hers. As if that’s not a common feat for a dragon.
--If anything is wrong, or if the flight schedule I have in my head is different for Iridescents, I will be glad to change that last bit of her history. Then again, I'd be glad to change anything that the admins feel that I need to change.--
