Character[/b]
Name: S'vek
Age: 16
Gender: male
Rank: Green Weyrling
Mutated?: No - he thinks it would be pretty fantastic, though.
Location: Skysong Weyr
Appearance: S'vek is, quite simply, a very vain man. He's often been teased for not wanting to go outside without checking his appearance more than once. He tries hard to get a manly, mature look, but in all honesty, he's just too feminine to attain it. He keeps his dark blonde hair cut so the tips of his bangs brush his eyes, which definitely does not help with the "I am a manly man" goal. He likes his hair, though, and is unwilling to cut it off. S'vek's eyes are a light brown, nothing really to be proud of on another person, but S'vek seems to think that they're the most handsome part of his body. He also has eyebrows which are naturally quite thin, which helps with his "image" even less than long hair.
He's a product of long years in the sun, and has the skin to prove it. S'vek has dark skin, although compared to most people, he's pretty average. This is the result of spending long hours outside trying to avoid work, and even if he knows very little of his craft, he has lean muscles from trying to climb trees to get away from pesky teachers. S'vek learned long ago that is he wore clothes that couldn't be repaired to work (or to avoid work), they would inevitably be damaged. So, he wears soft fabric shirts in various shades of brown, gray, and blue, and long pants, usually made of some material that doesn't easily tear.
Personality: S'vek is quite possibly the biggest flirt on the face of Pern. But, because he tends to go far overboard, he doesn't (and hasn't) had a real boyfriend. He's mostly dedicated to the risk of going around and occasionally getting slapped, and it's decidedly less dangerous than getting into fights. Which he avoids, by the way. He's very much a pacifist, and doesn't fight back on the occasion that he does get slapped; he just accepts that he's gone too far and leaves.
In order to have more time to flirt, S'vek avoids work like it will burn him. He'll go to lessons, sure, but when he's not being supervised, well, he's off Faranth knows where. It's not just his craft that gets ignored more often than not; it's chores, unnecessary conversations with his parents, and less-than-essential sleep. He'll often be awake for twenty hours, hanging around the Dining Hall and Lake alternately, before passing out in his bed, sleeping for four hours, and doing it again. Once a sevenday, he dedicates an entire day to sleeping... or at least he tries to. Sometimes it's hard with such an active social life.
Generally, though, S'vek is just a happy person. He smiles all the time, and finds it difficult not to open up immediately to people. It's actually not so much a good thing, since he tends to make friends with everyone, not just the people who don't want to hurt him. Also, he'll forget your name.
History: Syrevek was born to two relatively normal parents, Tanners who had met in a Senior Apprentice class. Neither was particularly remarkable, in their skill or in their parenting practices. His life went normally, including the birth of his younger sister, until he was three, when both parents moved from Benden Hold to Fort Hold for a "change of venue." As he learned later, it was really because Syrah had cheated with a Master's husband, which caused the family to move because of the possibility of sabotage.
While Pairek were less than happy, Syre was very pleased with the change. Pairek had never been to Tannercrafthall, and it seemed that they were now on the opposite side of the world than where he desperately wanted to be. This was a time where the couple were at odds with each other, and for a season Syrah refused to speak to her husband more than was necessary. This was followed by a season of relative calm. Then, Syre's life was turned nearly upside down.
Pairek found out when Syre was four that his wife had been unfaithful. It was the reason behind their first move to Sardon, and the reason behind Pairek's subsequent move to the Tannercrafthall. Syre was left without a real father figure, since Syrah's lover left her soon after. He remembers the change, and he remembers his real father, but neither stands out as a terrible memory. Syre loves Pairek, sure, but the two just weren't together enough to really develop a "father-son" bond.
Syre lived the stereotypical life of a crafter's son, accompanying his mother to work when he was old enough to know not to touch any projects. Even at a young age, he was constantly trying to evade the work given to him, even if it was the small things like sweeping up. He ended up outside playing with friends more often than not, and since his mother was often doing something else, he was never reprimanded.
He sat in apprentice classes from the age of twelve to thirteen, then decided that learning how to make leather really wasn't worth the effort. He had already proved himself good at decorating and braiding the leather, but actually making it wasn't one of his strong points. So, Syre ended up having free reign of the Hold from the time his parents went to work to the time they came home. As long as he left before them and came home before them, it didn't really matter.
When Thread came, Syrah moved the small family once again, this time to the Weyr. They had been living between two fields, and it turns out that Thread likes to eat green things. So, off to Fort Weyr it was. The stone offered a safe haven from the destruction, and Syrah had always wanted to see the dragons up close. Besides, riders tended to need riding leathers and straps and a wide variety of things like that, so the move would even be profitable!
As it turned out, the two moved in just a few days before the mutated clutch hatched, and while Syre was in attendance, he didn't manage to Impress. When the Weyrwoman made the decision to exile the mutants, Syrah, being the flighty woman she was, followed them to the Southern Continent. Two huge moves in the span of a sevenday; it's a wonder he wasn't traumatized.
At the age of thirteen, Syre was basically extracted from his craft, since there were no Tannercrafthall established. And so, Syre resorted to his primary occupation: being lazy. It actually paid off, a little, because he managed to finagle a firelizard egg, which hatched a blue flit when he was almost fifteen.
Syre Stood for the first clutch at Skysong halfheartedly. He was pretty sure he wasn't going to Impress, but really, he didn't care much. It was a win-win situation; if he did Impress, that win was obvious, and if he didn't, well, maybe he'd come away with a sexy scar to show off. The first situation turned out to be the true one; near the end of the Hatching, Nerideth spilled out of her shell, stumbled around for a bit, then found Hers in Syre, now S'vek.
And so, a new life begins.

Impressed[/b]
Dragon Name: Nerideth
Dragon Color: Green. Lime green.
Brief Personality: Neri, as S'vek calls her, is practically the worst influence he could ever have. She shares his playful nature, and seems bent on getting everyone in the Weyr to like her. She does have a more work-oriented personality, however, and is basically the reason S'vek isn't failing Weyrling Training.
Anything else you want to add:
Firelizard Name: Bluey
Firelizard Color: Blue
Anything else you want to add: Bluey seems to resent his name and attempts to do everything possible to blatantly contradict the stereotypical blue. He can't be depended on, is distracted very easily, and is only consistently present at mealtimes.
